A little about our club

You may be trying to find that period caravan to match your classic car, restoring one passed down by parents, looking to holiday with a difference or simply have an interest in the past. With any of these things in mind the Period & Classic Caravan Club has something to offer you.

We were founded in 1982 and are the longest running “Old” caravan club in existence.

Our aim is to be a friendly club promoting the appreciation, restoration and use of classic caravans.

Some may ask if we only have very old caravans in the club and the answer to that is no, we don’t just cater for vintage vans.Classic caravans manufactured up to 1980 are eligable to display on our club stands at events as well as the vintage caravans.

Don’t worry if you don’t own a classic or period caravan, we also, actively encourage those who have an interest in nostalgia, who just have a modern caravan or even without a caravan, to join us. All caravans are welcome to join us at our club social events.

Our members show their caravans, all over the UK.

Of course, Classic Caravanning is not just about being on show all the time. We like to arrange family camping weekends where we can get together and enjoy just using caravans as they would have been used in days gone by.

There is much to be gained from being a member of the PCCC: you will get, a three monthly full colour copy of our newsletter “Hoot & Pass” with articles about historic caravans, activities, International and National events, what’s happening within the club and much more.

We can help advise on  restoration and locating parts and materials.

Our club Historian can assist in identifying, dating and tracing the background to your caravan.

You have free public liability insurance to attend any event with your classic or vintage caravan

We organise our own rally each year .Throughout the year we are invited to attend steam rallies, car shows and country fairs and have a full programme from spring through to Autumn.

Finally, there’s a whole host of like-minded people out there for you to get acquainted with.
